Federal grants to help airports in Houston, Grenada, Iuka, Corinth and Oxford 

$6.6 million in federal grants will help with improvements at nine airfields in Mississippi.

WASHINGTON (WTVA) - $6.6 million in federal grants will help with improvements at nine airfields in Mississippi.

U.S. Sens. Roger Wicker and Cindy Hyde-Smith, both Republicans from Mississippi, made the announcement on Tuesday.

The Houston Municipal Airport will receive $1.04 million to improve its runway and apron.

The Grenada Municipal Airport will receive $248,100 to install weather reporting equipment.

The Iuka Mississippi Airport will receive $234,740 to install weather reporting equipment

The Roscoe Turner Airport in Corinth will receive $221,464 to updates its master plan/study.

The University-Oxford Airport will receive $207,200 to improve its drainage and erosion control.

Other beneficiaries are located in Brookhaven, Greenwood, Natchez and Vicksburg.
