Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act or CARES Act

The enactment of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (Public Law No: 116-136) sets in motion a historic federal effort to combat the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).  While not perfect, this legislation will:  direct resources to help workers and small businesses in distress; give direct financial help to Americans in need, including middle class families; provide targeted lending to industries of national importance; and, most importantly, do more to fortify the U.S. health care system.

Federal agencies will work responsibly to implement this sprawling bill as quickly as possible.  Please refer to the following links to learn more about the CARES Act and agency-by-agency efforts on COVID-19.

For Mississippians, COVID-19 updates and resources provided by the Office of Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves are available here.
