Leaders unite in prayer at Mississippi Christian University

CLINTON, Miss. — Local leaders gathered for a morning of prayer in Clinton Friday.
Clinton's first Mayor's Prayer Breakfast was held at Mississippi Christian University, formerly Mississippi College, which hosted the event.
United States Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith was the keynote speaker.
"This is the most important thing we can do for our country. This is the most important thing we can do for our elected officials, our friends, family, is pray for them," said Hyde-Smith.
Mayor Will Purdie said, "Certainly there are many issues that are facing our city and our country. You know the focus today I think would be, as you say on the prayer breakfast, to pray for our local leaders at all levels, to have the wisdom, the strength, the humility to do those jobs well and reflect and rely on their Christian values while their doing those jobs."
