Hyde-Smith tours Climb CDC

By Andrew Scherer

While on a trip to the Gulf Coast, United States Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith visited with a local Gulfport organization.

The senator toured Climb CDC, an organization that provides workforce training and development to 16 to 26-year-olds along with other academic programs.

Hyde-Smith sees the need in workforce training in not only Mississippi, but the country as a whole, recently citing the work done by Climb CDC for the entire Gulf Coast. “I just look to the program that they have. They can study for the ACT, study for the GED and get that, but it’s just that stepping stone that a lot of people out there need. We all come to points in our lives that, you know, when you have that hand that reaches out and says ‘let me help you,’ that’s what this place does.”

Hyde-Smith hopes to see more workforce training programs pop-up across the state.
