LAUDERDALE, Miss. (WTOK) - The 2018 Farm Bill could change the lives of many Mississippians. Right now, the bill is out of the Senate Committee and has moved to the House. U.S. Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith says the bill is important for many reasons, and that's why she'll continue to push it forward.

LAUDERDALE, Miss. (WTOK) - Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith took a break from campaigning to enjoy the rodeo with all the cowboys and cowgirls Friday evening.
 
She and her family have been coming to the rodeo for several years to enjoy the atmosphere and all the competitions. The senator tells us she loves that the rodeo is a great family event. She encourages everyone to come and see what the rodeo is all about.

Senators vote to extend National Flood Insurance Program

WASHINGTON D.C. - U.S. Senators Roger Wicker and Cindy Hyde-Smith voted to extend the National Flood Insurance Program Tuesday.
 
The program was set to expire at midnight. The four-month extension does not include reforms, something Senator Wicker called for his colleagues to consider in order the keep the program financially sustainable.

Flood insurance program advances through House

The House has passed a bill to reauthorize the National Flood Insurance Program(NFIP) through November 30th. It passed on a vote of 366-52 and awaits passage in the Senate.
